Earth Day 2024: Launching Workshops at the Circular Academy in Zasavje

Circular Change and the Zasavje Regional Development Agency (Regionalna razvojna agencija Zasavje) marked this year's Earth Day with the launch of the Circular Academy in Zagorje, demonstrating significant progress in their joint efforts. The event also emphasized the integration of sustainable practices into local communities and industries.
Innovative Ideas for a Sustainable Future
The event highlighted the sprouting of three innovative ideas for creating circular value systems within the region. These include the development of micro-reinforcement materials, the establishment of a circular industrial zone, and the transformation of Medijske Toplice into a center for regenerative practices. These initiatives are set to redefine how resources are utilized in the Zasavje area, fostering a more sustainable and economically viable environment.
Global Insights and Local Actions
Following a March professional excursion to the Netherlands and insights from the World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) held last week in Brussels, the team has begun to solidify the potential for Zasavje to become a beacon of circular and equitable transition. The subsequent modules of the academy will focus on developing circular projects in local ecosystem ready for European funding applications and the commencement of their realization.
