One week, two circular academies: Brindisi and Belgrade
The first week of October saw Circular Change, represented by Director Ladeja Godina Košir, take part in two different academies dedicated to circular economy.
The Circular Economy School in Apulia Region
The Circular Economy School in Apulia Region (CESARe) summer School in Brindisi, organised by the Università degli Studi di Bari on October 2nd and 3rd , and supported by ENEA, brought forty keen students to the lectures halls.T he summer school offered variety of topics relevant for understanding the circular economy in a holistic and systemic perspective. The students asked the right questions and challenged existing solutions for the circular transition and have shown a lot of pre-existing knowledge. Ms Godina Košir joined a team of eight lecturers, who focused on diverse topics, from industrial symbiosis to sustainable finance.
ACE 2.0 - Belgrade
The Academy for Circular Economy for SMEs - ACE 2.0 was brought forward by entrepreneur and circular economy pioneer Milan Veselinov in collaboration with Climate KIC and the Serbian Government. It brings students, mostly coming from the private sector, to a journey through various topics, with Circular Change leading the module on Systems thinking for the Circular Economy together with the Bertlanaffy Centre for the Study of Systems Science on October 4th and 5th.
Lecturers Ladeja Godina Košir, Karin Huber-Heim and Stefan Blachfellner encouraged the students to experience first-hand what true collaboration means by using puzzles which requires a significant amount of team work. In addition to learning the basics of systems science and systems thinking approach, participants defined several working groups for the academy, as well as started to map their circular journeys.
