Optiprint – the optimal product-as-service printing solution

If you want to print, you don’t have to buy a printer! In an effort to make (the little) printing we do in a more sustainable way, Circular Change has partnered up with Optiprint, a Ljubljana-based company that offers a range of services, from renting out printers to maintenance and updates on all rented out printing devices. Their story is an inspiring example of a product-as-service business model that shows how it incentivizes both - the producer and customer to use more cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions.

Due to the polymeric consistency, ink cartridge and toner waste takes more than 450 years to break down. Ink cartridges also contain heavy metals and toxins harmful to the environment. By using a circular model, Optiprint aims to reduce ink cartridge waste. They reuse all their ink cartridges and toners and by doing so, drastically reduce the amount of cartridges that end up in waste bins. Since 2009, by reusing ink cartridges, Optiprint has saved more than 3.820.000 ink cartridges from becoming waste in our landfills.

When implementing product-as-service models, ensuring timely servicing is of the essence, which is why 95% of all needed maintenance work in Slovenia is covered and resolved on the same working day. At the same time, Optiprint keeps all clients informed and on track with the newest options of Optiprint services.
