Opening of the Exhibition Creative & Circular

The beautiful castle Fužine, located on the outskirts of Ljubljana, is the home of the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO). Since the 18th of April 2019 it is also the home of the first exhibition of circular design projects in Slovenia.

The culmination of the project Creative & Circular, a pro-production between Circular Change and the Centre for Creativity (Czk), operating under MAO, this exhibition puts on display the works of all designers, who responded to the public call for projects, revealed in the beginning of February 2019. The exhibition shows the variety of circular design ideas and features projects in various stages of development: from market ready solutions to concepts. Three projects: Floios Jewelry, Collodi by Donar and paper + bioplastics were highlighted by the jury and given the opportunity to present themselves at the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Conference 2019 on March 7th in Brussels.

Matevž Čelik, Director of MAO opened the exhibition, followed by Mika Cimolini, Programme Manager at CzK and Ladeja Godina Košir, Director of Circular Change, who greeted the guests in the name of the international jury, and stressed the importance of including designers to the process of changing business models from linear to circular.

The project will also be highlighted in the panel discussion “Creative and Circular - Enabled by Digital” at the 4th Circular Change Conference in Maribor, May 16th 2019.
