Deloitte SheXo Club: CE for CEO - Circular economy - what is in it for me?
Shifting towards circularity and sharing were the key messages from the third hybrid webinar organised in February in the framework of the Deloitte's SheXO club and hosted by the CE South SheXO Initiative leader Helena Schmidt.
Great examples of existing cooperation at national and regional level on how to address the issues emerging in countries' transition to circular economy were presented by 3 experts from 3 different countries:
Ladeja Godina Košir, founder and CEO of Circular Change, Co-leader of Research Group CE Systems - BCSSS in Vienna and Co-chair of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) in Brussels
Muhamed Semić, Risk Advisory and Consulting Senior Manager in Deloitte Bosnia and Herzegovina
Ivana Turjak-Čebohin, Deloitte Audit & Assurance Director in Croatia and Green Frog Award Initiative Leader
Since the circular economy is integrated in key EU guidelines documents, new regulation – from Green Deal & Green Recovery, to Circular Economy Action Plan, Fit for 55 and Taxonomy – it is “a must” for business sector as well as for other stakeholders. It is essential for maintaining the competitive advantage and staying on the market. It is no more a choice; it became an unavoidable systemic change.
The circular economy enables businesses to create value and jobs by using sustainable materials, minimising waste, and introducing business practices that support product longevity, focus on designing long-lasting products, and expand recycling and reuse.
Workshop highlights:
“Green & sustainable & circular" - new buzzwords or a new "modus operandi"
Systemic approach - reinventing existing value chains
New business models - what is the right "entry point" for the circular transformation of my business
Money makes the world go round - trends on the green financial market
