EXPO after EXPO: closing event of the Slovenian representation at Dubai
On March 31, the first World Expo in the Arab Environment in history closed its gates in Dubai. The hosts, the United Arab Emirates, have put extraordinary efforts in the record-breaking Expo, which was attended by as many as 192 countries, attracting as many as 24 million visitors.
The Slovenian pavilion was visited by a million visitors, who explored the beauties and opportunities of Slovenia, together with Slovenian representatives from all sectors created new friendships and business arrangements that will lead to tangible collaborations in the coming years. In total, more than 200 events were held in the Slovenian business center, and around 600 companies visited the pavilion, either as exhibitors or as part of business delegations.
Circular Change with Ladeja Godina Košir had the opportunity to contribute to several events at the Dubai EXPO: Women’s World Majlis, Smart villages event, as well as co-organize the first-ever ECESP appearance in the Arab world with the Circular Europe Days including the Wood industry session at the Slovenian pavilion.
The achievements of the Slovenian presentation at Expo 2020 were summed up at the closing event on April 20, 2022, at the Cankarjev dom Club venue, with the opening address by the Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Mr. Zdravko Počivalšek and array of distinguished guests from the Ministry of Economic development and Technology, the Secretaries Simon Zajc and Franc Kangler, MEP France Bogovič, Matic Volk Commissioner General of the Republic of Slovenia for EXPO, Rok Capl Director of the Public Agency Spirit Slovenia and Anuša Gaši, Project and program manager of Slovenia at Expo 2020 and others.
