Sustainable Alpine Tourism Initiative in Triglav National Park
As winter approaches, we look back on the memorable weekend of September 7th and 8th, when Triglav National Park became a gathering place for Alpine sustainability advocates. Co-organized by the Sustainable Alpine Tourism Initiative (SATI), and Ms. Nataša Šip, with Circular Change as a communication partner, this event highlighted the powerful connection between nature and sustainable tourism.
On September 7th, the Uskovnica hut welcomed us for an inspiring screening of Green Mountain Pioneers, directed by Sarisher Mann, whose presence enriched our discussions. The documentary resonated deeply with mountains and nature lovers, sparking lively exchanges on sustainable practices for Alpine regions.
The following day, September 8th, participants embarked on a guided hike through Korita Mostnice and Voje Valley (Willomitzer's Botanical Trail) led by a skilled botanist from Bohinj. This immersive experience highlighted the breathtaking biodiversity of the area, underscoring the importance of preserving these unique landscapes.
This September gathering reflected SATI’s mission to unite Alpine communities across Europe, fostering collaboration and a shared passion for nature. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Nataša Šip for her invaluable support in organizing this unforgettable weekend, and to the Mountaineering Association of Srednja Vas in Bohinj for their partnership.
