Reflections on BioRevolution: Shaping the Future of the Slovenian Bioeconomy
On March 6, 2025, Slovenia took a significant step toward shaping its national bioeconomy strategy at the BIO(R)EVOLUTION: Where Should Slovenia’s Bioeconomy Be Headed? event. Hosted at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS) and organized by Anteja ECG, Circular Change, GZS - Association of Chemical Industries, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food, the event gathered key stakeholders for the fourth consecutive time under the National Hub for Bioeconomy. Participants collaborated on defining strategic directions for 2025, introducing the advisory board, and signing the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the Hub. The event also featured an interactive workshop aimed at shaping national guidelines and Slovenia’s Bioeconomy Action Plan.
As discussions unfolded, policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and thought leaders explored how Slovenia can unlock the full potential of circular biobased solutions. From sustainable resource management to pioneering biotechnologies, the focus was on building a resilient and future-oriented bioeconomy. Experts and stakeholders engaged in a dynamic exchange, addressing key elements of the bioeconomy system, analyzing systemic challenges and opportunities, mapping critical value chains, and envisioning the path toward 2040.
