Project EFFECTIVE was a first-of-its-kind type of project that aimed to develop circular and biobased materials for the textile and packaging industries. The strongest and one of the most innovative aspects was building a consortium of businesses and organisations covering the whole value chain of circular biobased polyamides and polyesters; counting 13 partners from 7 different countries.

The project was co-funded by the Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking and H2020. The outcome of the project was the realisation of two pilot plants of a pre-commercial scale to produce biobased nylon and polyester in Slovenia and Italy, respectively. The technological innovation demonstrated the possibility of producing sustainable biobased fibers and plastic films from renewable feedstocks, contributing to the development and progress of our transition to a circular bioeconomy.
