Online conference - Bioeconomy: a new development and business opportunity in agriculture.

 

On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, GZS (Slovene Chamber of Commerce), Chamber of Agricultural and Food Companies organized an online event "Bioeconomy: a new development and business opportunity in agriculture."

Sustainable development, the circular economy and bioeconomy present many opportunities for new economic growth and the formulation of new policies to support it. The expansion of the bioeconomy, especially in rural areas and beyond, represents a great potential, in terms of job creation, sustainable use of natural resources and renewed economic development.

Engaging program was guiding us through the opportunities for bioeconomy and its strategic development from the perspective of policy makers, to the results of the Alp.Bio.Eco. project, to front-runners in biotechnological innovations with business cases from Lušt, Institute for cellulose and paper – with their inventive packaging solutions, to Panvita and Bevo, and more. All proving once again readiness of Slovenia and the region to be the leaders in creating new value chains and value added circular solutions.

Ladeja G. Košir held a keynote Creativity & innovation at the heart of the circular economy on opportunities that lay in circular bioeconomy, introducing also the initiatives Circular Change is active at: BIOeast foresight exercise 2050 and the project EFFECTIVE exploring the potential of new bio-based fibers.
