Circular Change Conference as the Key Event Towards Davos 2019

In 2017 the World Economic Forum established a public-private collaboration, known as the Platform for Accelerating the Circular Economy (PACE). It is co-chaired by the CEO of Philips, leading international environmental and circular economy organizations and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. It is worth mentioning that among these is also the International Resource Panel, which is co-chaired by our Janez Potočnik.

The PACE partnership aims to create a systemic transition by enabling its partners to:

  • Develop blended financing models for circular economy projects, in particular in developing and emerging economies

  • Help create and adjust enabling policy frameworks to address specific barriers to advancing the circular economy

  • Bring the private and public sector into public-private collaborations to scale impact around circular economy initiatives

The platform is bringing together heads of international organizations, Ministers and over 40 CEOs who have committed to participate in circular activities. Project’s focus areas include – plastics, electronics, food & bioeconomy and business model and market transformation across China, ASEAN, Europe and Africa.

Circular Change has been facilitating Slovenia to get identified as a circular economy hub of the future and therefore earlier this year Slovenia was invited to participate in the PACE program. In addition, we are honoured that our annual Circular Change conference has been globally recognized by the WEF and its PACE platform. It was listed as one of the key community engagement events and a crucial point towards the next annual meeting in Davos in 2019. We are more than proud and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
